Artists Legislation

You will agree to abide by the State of California and Federal Laws protecting the rights of visual artists.  California Resale Royalties Act (CA Civil Code S986) a) Whenever a work of fine art is sold and the seller resides in California or the sale takes place in California, the seller or seller’s agent shall pay to the artist of such a work of fine art or to such artist’s agent 5% of the amount of such sale -

California Art Preservation Act (CA Civil Code S987) that reads:  “a) The Legislature hereby finds and declares that the physical alteration or destruction of an expression of the artist’s personality, is detrimental to the artists reputation and therefore have an interest in protecting their works of fine art against any alteration or destruction...

Visual Arts Rights Act (VARA) “The right of integrity concerns the artist’s right to prevent or to recover damages for the intentional distortion, mutilation, modification, or destruction of his work…the artist retains these rights throughout his lifetime, even when the original work to be protected is no longer in his possession”

Addendum: No images of the artist’s work may be reproduced for commercial purposes without the artist’s permission. 



You will not hold Creative Art Bridges or artbridgesgallery responsible for website artists’ actions or inactions.  You acknowledge that we are not a traditional gallery business.  Instead, the artist-members are a group of established artists’ who are sole proprietors of their own artwork business who have chosen to participate under the Creative Art Bridges umbrella on the artbridgesgallery venue.  The artists have given permission to the Art Dealer/Director of Creative Art Bridges and its subsidiary, artbridgesgalley to transfer ownership of artwork to the buyer. Legal ownership “transfer terms and conditions” will apply as noted under Artist Legislation unless otherwise waived by the artist.


Creative Art Bridges/artbridgesgallery is responsible for the physical delivery of the artwork from the artist-seller to the buyer.  However, we have no control over domestic destination information not provided to us by the receiver.  Nor do we have any control over unexpected international fees or destination information not provided to us by the receiver.



We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.



You will indemnify and hold our director, artists, agents and employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees, made by an third party due to or arising from your breach of this Agreement, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.


Dispute Resolution

In the event a dispute arises between you and Creative Art Bridges and its subsidiary artbridgesgallery, our goal is to provide you with a neutral and effective means to quickly resolve the dispute.  We will consider reasonable dispute requests and will look to resolve these disputes through mediation or sarbitration as a positive alternative to litigation.  Any disputes leading to litigation must take place in the Los Angeles Court system.
